| In honor of Arbor Day, Moraga Garden Club member Sue Hanes picks up two Italian Cypress trees that the club ordered from Ken Murakami, owner of the Moraga Garden Center. The club will plant these at the Holy Trinity Cultural Center on School Street. The Club plants a tree somewhere in Moraga every year at this time. Last year, the club planted a Crape Myrtle tree also at the Center. California celebrates Arbor Day on March 7, while the nation celebrates it on the last Friday in April. In addition to planting trees, the Moraga Garden Club maintains the flag pole area at the Commons as well as at the area by the green gate and the entrance to the parking lot. It also takes care of the plants in the triangle area of Rheem, and the urn area at the library as well as provides a new flower arrangement for the inside of the library every month.
