| The Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School (JMIS) boys' seventh grade A basketball team won the league championship on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, in a close and physical game against Longfellow of Berkeley. Coached by Chris Copen, and cheered on by dedicated JM fans, the team won 47-42. The team finished 11-2, including wins over tough opponents Albany and Orinda Intermediate School (OIS) in the post-season semi and quarter finals. Three members of the JM team - Nick Drury, Lev Garcia, and Sterling Strother (Tournament MVP) - were named to the all-tournament team, along with Max Flower of Stanley and Will Hicks of OIS.
