| The third annual Orinda in Action Community Service Day will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 9 a.m. to noon. Orinda's spring clean-up day needs the able bodies of Orinda's young and not-so young to take to the streets, parks, and creeks to clean up the winter's debris and trash.
Orinda in Action Day coordinators are actively soliciting residents to suggest clean-up projects and to register to provide the time and muscle to get these projects done. For how to, see below:
How to Register
Send an email to orindainaction@gmail.com with names and ages, if children. Meet at the Library Plaza the morning of April 16th for your clean-up assignment. Wear comfortable, protective work clothes. Bring gardening gloves and tools, such as rakes, brooms, clippers, and shovels. The first 300 registrants will receive a free T-shirt.
Got a Project?
The Orinda in Action Day coordinators are actively seeking proposals for beautification projects around the City, at a park, in your neighborhood, or along your drive to work. Volunteers will be matched to the projects and supplies will be provided. Forward project proposals to orindainaction@gmail.com.
Recycling!
Orinda in Action Day will also provide several opportunities for residents to recycle. In front of the Community Center and the Rite Aid parking lot, there will be a Goodwill truck accepting donations, an electronic recycling drop-off center, and the Food Bank of Contra Costa County and Solano accepting food donations.
