LaMorinda United '94 (LMSC) received red carpet treatment compliments of Puma as a reward for winning the U.S.A. Cup in Blaine, Minnesota. Puma sponsored the international soccer tournament. As champions, the girls were treated to an all-expenses- paid trip to Rochester, New York to watch the Women's Professional Championship (WPS) soccer match between the Philadelphia Independence and the Western New York Flash on August 26-27.
First day highlights included watching training sessions, practicing with the coaches and players, and a shopping spree at a Puma retail store. On game day, the LaMorinda squad escorted players from the Philadelphia Independence onto the field for the pre-game festivities. Once the contest began, United sat in a luxury box and met with U.S World Cup hero Abby Wambach.
After the match the girls had an opportunity to meet the players, take pictures, and hear first hand about playing professional soccer. They met with World Cup players including Alex Morgan, Amy Rodriguez and Brazilian super star Marta Vieira de Silva.
