Orinda honors its first responders
Photo Ohlen Alexander

Theater Square's Table 24 offered free meals to local police and fire fighters all day on Sunday; the men pictured are from the Moraga Orinda Fire District. At the Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian Church, the Chancel Choir took part in an initiative of the Distinguished Concert Series at Lincoln Center, which called for choirs all around the world to sing one of two works written for this occasion. The vision of this global effort is to "...create a mosaic of voices unified in their call for peace on the anniversary of one of history's darkest hours." Donations were accepted to the 9/11 Memorial Fund, http://www.911memorial.org/donate.
