Moraga Council Tables Open Space Sale

The Moraga Town Council tabled a plan to subdivide and sell a parcel of Town-owned near the corner of Rheem Boulevard and Saint Mary’s Road. Arguing that, among other things, selling the property would bring too little money too late, the Council decided on October 12 to postpone the decision indefinitely.
The Town decided over a year ago that selling a couple of acres would cover the cost of the building that it purchased at 321 Rheem – staff will now look at alternative sources of funding to pay the loan, of over $400,000, that will come due next March.
