Lafayette's Pleasant Hill Road upgrades between Mt. Diablo and Olympic Boulevards are proceeding nicely, but foot traffic and cyclists who use the off-street multi-use path may notice the posts centered along the route are easier to spot. That's because they've been re-striped with reflective tape. Those posts "prevent people from doing what they know they shouldn't be doing," says Associate Engineer Matt Luttropp, namely: driving or parking on the path, which ends up blocking residents' driveways. Project Engineer Farzaneh Sanders says the posts were installed four years ago, but over time the reflective tape has been peeled away. A few new posts will be placed near the creek overpass (west side of Pleasant Hill Road, south of Station). C.Dausman
