| Friends of Orinda Creeks and Orinda Academy worked together March 23 to remove trash and invasive weeds from the banks of San Pablo Creek in downtown Orinda. Fourteen creek advocates formed teams with 38 students and four staff members from the Orinda Academy. After removing seven bags of trash and some large debris, the teams began digging out non-native blackberry, broom, and ivy. After several hours, a full truck of weeds had been removed. The Friends of Orinda Creeks will continue to lead work parties to improve the creek banks in the coming months. Announcements of these work parties and other events can be found on the Friends website: www.OrindaCreeks.org.
