| Our fine feathered friends have multiple housing options in Lamorinda, but this exceptional group on the south side of the Lafayette Moraga Trail in Lafayette, between Hawthorne Drive and Foye Drive, offers plenty of fresh air, accessibility, and trailside views. Neighbors don't know who set up the first home, but the idea soon took flight- at last count there were 24 side-by-side nests.

A splash of blue delft gives this two story nest a cozy feel, along with its faux front door and unique upstairs entry. Mr. Peepers himself will greet you on the landing!
| | Suitable for Buoys and Gulls
There's bait but no switch to this inviting nautical nest. Decorated with a fishing pole, netting, a buoy and anchor, all that's missing is the "gone fishing" sign.

The sign may say "Jill," but it looks more like Abe once lived here. Peek inside, and perhaps you'll see a new resident reading by candlelight.

Grumpy Neighbor? (Looks like we found the "gone fishing" sign!)
Firewood stacked out front give this brightly painted bungalow a cozy feel, but the signs say otherwise. "Bill's" hideaway warns you to "keep out" and "beware of bears," and asks for "peace and quiet." |

Fixer Upper
The entry is a bit dated, and the fence, though sturdy, could use a coat of paint. The foundation is undoubtedly sturdy, but it's obviously been around long enough to have experienced a bit of 'settlement.'

Big Ben for Birds
Time to move up in the aviary world? This landmark looks suitable even for long-necked flamingoes! |

(...And you thought only Saint Mary's College had bells!)
Here is the church, and there is the steeple, complete with a belfry, but too small for people! Songbirds must flock to this location, especially on Sundays! The metal patina gives the place a definite "rock of ages" look. |
