Lamorinda United Wins in Overtime

Lamorinda United 94 played in the championship game of the U.S. Club Regional for the third consecutive year. Lamorinda took an early lead when Katie Tao delivered a corner kick into the penalty box to Sam Zarling, who headed it into the back of the net for a 1-0 advantage. United maintained the lead throughout the contest until the waning moments of the match when Diablo FC tied the game with 30 seconds remaining on the clock. The game ended knotted at 1-1 at the end of regulation. In overtime, Kaitlin McGee found a streaking Jessika Martinez who slammed the ball into the back of the net for the game winner in overtime. This was the second time in the past three years that Lamorinda has emerged as champions of the U.S. Club Regionals.
