| Published July 4th, 2012 | Moraga Police Blotter | | | | Possible pipe bomb? 6/25/12 A middle-aged Camino Ricardo resident heard a loud blast between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. and wisely called police. It wasn't actually a pipe bomb, but there was evidence suggesting an unknown combustion occurred-police collected the burnt evidence and took pictures. Nearby neighbors didn't hear a thing.
Squirrel target practice, 6/23/12 Cops spoke with two teenage boys who were shooting air-soft rifles from the roof of a Corliss Drive house at squirrels who had been nibbling at their garden. The kids and their parents received a lecture about the town ordinance prohibiting firing air-soft guns - and a warning was issued.
False alarms, 6/21/12 Turns out the activation point was the garage door of a home on Rimer Drive. Police found the home to be secure with nothing unusual, besides, of course, the alarm going off. Four more false alarms this week; on Calle La Mesa, South Sandringham, North Sandringham and Draeger. In all cases nothing suspicious was noticed.
Battery, 6/21/12 There was an argument at a residence on Ascot Drive, where one subject struck another with a fist - allegedly not causing an injury. No other details included in the police report.
Car stolen, 6/19/12 Not only was the car taken from a semi-secluded Joseph Drive home, but a digital camera from inside a different vehicle that was parked in the garage.
Home alone, 6/12/12 At 8:00 a.m. Moraga officers went to check on a child believed to be unattended at a Donald Drive apartment. Cops contacted the involved parties and, according to the police report, were able to resolve the incident with the assistance of Family and Child Services. Yours truly is unsure of what exactly that means.
