As temperatures soared into the triple digits throughout Contra Costa County last weekend, things were heating up in the Acalanes High School pool as well. Over 1800 local swimmers from 54 teams competed for the opportunity to be crowned 2012 Contra Costa County Swim Champions. Hosted by the LMYA Dolphins, the County Meet is considered one of the largest and most competitive recreational swim meets in the country. On hand to present the High Point & Team Awards was local swimming champion and Olympian Kim Vandenberg. Vandenberg started her swimming career at Moraga Swim & Tennis Club.
