Lamorinda Elections Update
Local election results as of 11/7/12, 2:23 a.m. with all precincts reporting, per Contra Costa Elections Division. Results are semiofficial and have not yet been certified.

Voters in Orinda and Moraga put their wallets where their tires are, voting to pay a little more for their purchases in the form of a sales tax in the interest of repairing roads and infrastructure. Orinda’s Measure L passed with 69.12 percent of voters in favor, while 70.07 percent of Moraga voters cast their ballots in favor of Measure K. For the most part, city/town council and school board incumbents seeking re-election retained their seats, except in Moraga where incumbent Karen Mendonca lost.
Lafayette City Council (3 seats)
Incumbent Mike Anderson (6,407 votes; 30.40 percent of voters) will be joined on the City Council by Traci Reilly (6,013 votes; 28.53 percent) and Mark Mitchell (3,770 votes; 17.89 percent), who prevailed over Robert Lobron (3,015 votes) and Jolie Vega (1,808 votes).
Lafayette School Board (two seats)
Jean Follmer locked in a seat on the Lafayette School Board with 5,558 votes (33.92 percent of voters). Nancy Wallace (4,505 votes; 27.49 percent) edged out Quinlan Tom (4,374 votes) for the second seat. Don Wolff ran a distant fourth (1,903 votes).
Moraga Town Council (3 seats)
Roger Wykle was the top vote-getter with 3,599 votes (26.01 percent of voters), followed by incumbent Mike Metcalf with 3,088 votes (22.31 percent) and Phillip Arth with 2,986 votes (21.58 percent). Incumbent Karen Mendonca lost her seat, pulling in 2,235 votes. 1,898 votes went to Seth Freeman. Moraga will have the only all-male council in Lamorinda.
Moraga School Board (2 seats)
Shari Simon (3,709 votes; 40.47 percent of voters) and incumbent Dexter Louie (3,040 votes; 33.17 percent) are the clear winners in this race; Parker Colvin came in with 2,398 votes.
Orinda City Council (2 seats)
Orindans re-elected incumbents Steve Glazer (5,013 votes; 42.76 percent of voters) and Victoria Smith (4,439 votes; 37.87 percent) by a wide margin. Challenger Linda Delehunt garnered 2,205 votes.
Orinda School Board (2 seats)
Incumbent Matt Moran has won re-election with 3,702 votes (32.83 percent of voters). He will be joined on the Orinda School Board by Sarah Genn Butler (2,824 votes; 25.04 percent). Bekki Van Voorhis-Gilbert got 2,471 votes; and Jason Lurie, 2,257 votes.
