For countless hours spent making the city more vibrant, Greg Moeller, also known as the daffodil man, will be honored on March 22 as the 2013 Lafayette Citizen of the Year. Not only has he planted thousands of daffodils, but he's also responsible for a number of bird houses, spreading poppy seeds and endless flower bed maintenance. "I generally consider myself the town hobo rather than citizen of the year," said Moeller, a self- described retired bean counter. "However I will continue planting daffodils, building birdhouses and doing what I can to add to our beautiful town. I am honored with the award and lovin' it." C. Tyson
