Scooter out of juice, 3/4/13 A fellow was driving his personal electric transportation vehicle when it ran out of power on Moraga Road at Corliss Drive. The older gentleman was fine, but his electric scooter was out of electricity. The fire department responded and helped the stalled senior citizen back to Aegis Assisted Living.
Car slap, 3/02/13 At 9 p.m. a couple were travelling through the intersection of Corliss Drive and Moraga Road when they were confronted by a pedestrian. As the pair drove past the pedestrian who had been using the crosswalk - the mystery person stopped, yelled and at the same time slapped the windshield of their car. No damage - but definitely unusual.
Loud music complaint, 3/02/13 Police received a call about loud rap music coming from a Miramonte Drive residence, stating her "peace was being disturbed by loud profanity-laced rap music," at 3:15 p.m. When cops approached the address, they could hear the music. The resident was advised of the noise complaint, but responded by complaining about neighbor kids playing and trash that was left by his door. Cops calmly explained that the music lover was welcome to call police if his peace was disturbed. There were no further complaints.
Unwise teenage driving, 2/28/13 An older Mercedes-Benz was pulled over on Moraga Road for a broken brake light and modified rear lenses in the middle of the afternoon. The 19-year-old driver from Moraga had a fake California Driver's License. Astute police sniffing detected the odor of non-burnt marijuana - the driver 'fessed up it was his. One of the two passengers had pot in his pocket, the pair received citations for having less than an ounce of marijuana and the driver got a ticket for the fake license. All three were released at the scene.
Fire hydrant hit, 2/28/13 A driver made a right turn leaving the Rheem Theatre and hit a stop sign along with a fire hydrant. Cops were called to direct traffic while EBMUD turned off the water. Looks like a hit and run, police conducted an area check for possible vehicles with a substantial dent in the front end but came up dry.
Soliciting without a permit, 2/27/13 Two salespeople were going door to door trying to sell magazine subscriptions near Larch Avenue. Cops found the pair and determined that they didn't have a soliciting permit, however they performed a background check which came back clear. The sellers were advised to stop soliciting until they have a valid permit.
