Shearer, who graduated from Acalanes High School in 2010 and currently attends Cornell University, will study in the UK for two years. She plans to pursue a master's degree at Cambridge University her first year, and a second master's at Oxford University during her second year. According to its website, Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a graduate degree in the UK.
