MOFD Reaches Tentative Agreement with Firefighters

"We have reached a tentative agreement with the Moraga-Orinda Fire District in our labor negotiations," announced Vince Wells, Local 1230 president, at the April 9 meeting of the Lafayette Emergency Services Task Force.

The MOFD board meets April 16, and ratification of the labor agreement has been placed on the agenda. "My fervent hope is that we will do just that," said JohnWyro, board president.

District firefighters have worked without a contract since 2010. The district declared an impasse in labor negotiations in January and accepted the union's request for mediation in March.
