Preliminary results posted last night by the Contra Costa County Elections Division indicate that a pair of parcel taxes, both Acalanes Union High School District Measure A and Lafayette School District Measure B, have been approved by voters.
With provisional ballots still to be counted as of 8:34 p.m. on May 6, 74.55 percent of votes were in favor of Measure A; Measure B was passing with 72.80 percent support from Lafayette voters.
In an email blast to district parents last night, AUHSD Superintendent John Nickerson wrote, “The community showed its value for high quality education, its support for sustaining high quality academic programs and support services, and its interest in preparing the AUHSD students for college and career and to excel and contribute in our global society. … On the behalf of the AUHSD Governing Board, thank you to the community for supporting our high schools, the students of today, and the students of tomorrow.”
