Local product Emily Shearer was honored with the Gatling Award by Cornell Track and Field. Shearer is a 2010 graduate of Acalanes. The award is given to the senior who has done the most for the Big Red program over his or her career. She was captain of the cross-country and track and field teams. An All-Ivy performer, Shearer was also named Female Athlete of the Year by the Cornell Daily Sun.
