Preliminary Primary Results

Orindans have rallied around their roads, approving Measure J by a comfortable margin. According to unofficial results from the Contra Costa County Elections Division, the road bond was supported by 75.27 percent of voters, well in excess of the two-thirds majority needed.
In the 16th Assembly District race, Catharine Baker (R) took the top spot with 35.73 percent of the vote. Democrats split the remaining vote, with 27.12 percent going to Orinda City Council member Steve Glazer. Dublin mayor Tim Sbranti garnered 22.89 percent and Newell Arnerich trailed with 14.13 percent. The top two vote-getters will face-off in the fall General Election.
