Lafayette's Boy Scout Troop 224 honored two new Eagle Scouts at a National Court of Honor on Sunday, June 1 at the Veterans Memorial Building in Lafayette. Acalanes High School juniors Joey Layshock and Gregory Fellows achieved Boy Scout's highest award after completing their individual community service projects. Layshock made improvements to Husky House at Happy Valley Elementary School, including replacing backpack hooks, painting backpack shelves, refinishing the deck, and building shelves for a storage shed. Fellows designed and built six standalone white board PVC pipe signs to be used for events at Acalanes High School. With 56 members, led by scoutmaster Kyle Blocker, Troop 224 has an active year-round program including campouts, summer camps and high adventure activities.
