National Night Out in Lafayette

Across town a number of folks volunteered to organize events to celebrate National Night Out on Aug. 5, promoting emergency preparedness. Carol Yates stepped up to the plate and spread the word within her complex, Lafayette Pointe on the east end of town. Newcomers to the neighborhood and longtime residents came out to enjoy a glass of wine, a bite to eat at the community pool and rub elbows with police officers and fire personnel, and check out their vehicles' cool equipment.
