Coming Soon: Parking Workshop and Thanksgiving Breakfast Event
Want breakfast? Don't dally - reservations are due Nov. 19
Coming to Lafayette this week are a Parking Workshop, where the city hopes to gather residents' thoughts on parking strategies, and the annual Community Thanksgiving Breakfast, organized by the Chamber of Commerce - an opportunity to reflect on the community and give thanks. Residents are welcome to double dip.
In the second of three Parking Workshops, city leaders want to know what you think of parking meters, permits for employees and a parking garage, along with ways to solve the current parking crunch. The workshop asks for residents' feedback and will spend some time looking for input on the east end's parking problems, roughly from First Street to Pleasant Hill Road. The workshop, sponsored by the City of Lafayette Parking Ordinance Committee, is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20 in the Community Room at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd. Free, no reservation required, and complimentary snacks.
Who wouldn't want to enjoy eggs and coffee with a side of humor and inspiration? Author, aviatrix, mother, mission support representative for Virgin Galactic, and charming Lafayette resident M.J. Marggraff will be the keynote speaker for the upcoming Community Thanksgiving Breakfast. For the past 36 years, the early morning event has kicked off the holiday season in a significant and meaningful way. Reservations are required and must be made by Wednesday, Nov. 19; go to the Lafayette Chamber website at www.lafayettechamber.org to reserve an individual spot for $20 or a table for eight for just $150. Breakfast is from 7 to 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1035 Carol Lane in Lafayette. - C. Tyson
