Medals for Karate Kids

Local Lamorinda karate kids participated in two tournaments and earned top finishes. On May 16, Charlie Richtenburg (Lafayette) earned gold in Kata and bronze in Kumite at the Youth Karate Championship. On May 17, he joined his teammates in the NorCal Karate Championship. Richtenburg took silver in Kata and Kumite. Jared Avenell (Moraga) took gold in Kata and bronze in Kobudo. Chase Yang (Moraga) took gold in Kata and bronze in Kumite. Persephone Barth (Moraga) finished with a gold in Kata and a bronze in Kumite in her first tournament. Eli Levenfeld also participated in his first tournament.
