Roads and Schools Win in Lamorinda

Lamorinda voters said yes to roads and schools on Tuesday, while giving incumbents the nod to continue to do their jobs.
In preliminary results, Orinda’s Measure L, the bond measure to continue to improve that city’s aging roads, won with 67.60 percent of the vote, more than the two-thirds majority needed to win.
In Lafayette, voters overwhelming approved Measure C, the schools bond measure, with 77.32 percent of the vote, much more than the 55 percent needed.
In local government races, State Senator and former Orinda mayor Steve Glazer won his election with 55.71 percent of voters approving of the work he has done. Meanwhile, U.S. Representative Mark DeSaulnier won with a commanding 74.51 percent of the vote.
State Assemblywoman Catherine Baker also won her election with 54.15 percent of the vote, with Supervisor Candace Andersen, who run unopposed, garnering a whopping 98.27 percent of the vote.
