Lafayette Seeking City Council Candidates

Want to serve Lafayette residents and are available on the second and fourth Monday nights of the month? The City of Lafayette has announced that nomination papers for three seats on the city council will be available at the city offices, 3675 Mount Diablo Blvd., suite 210, from now until the filing cutoff of 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12.
Three of the five members' terms will expire in November of this year: Mayor Mark Mitchell, vice mayor Mike Anderson and Traci Reilly. Reilly has already said she will complete her term, but won't run again.
According to city clerk Joanne Robbins, in case one or more of the incumbents don't file nomination papers by Friday, Aug. 12, the filing period will be extended to Wednesday, Aug, 17 for individuals who are not currently city council members. Contact Robbins for more information on the position at (925) 284-1968.
