Sierra Warshawsky, a junior at Campolindo High School in Moraga, was honored Sept. 21 with The Rising Star (under 18) award at the eighth annual Contra Costa Leadership in Sustainability & Green Building Awards, presented by Sustainable Contra Costa (SCOCO). About 240 people gathered at the Hilton Concord for this award, fundraising, and community event.
Sierra actively volunteers in various charity events and organizations, including Rotary and the organization One Million Lights, which provides solar power to third-world countries without electricity.
