With the early voting coming in — mail-in ballots mainly — there were several surprises in Lamorinda elections. Most notably, Lafayette’s Measure C, the 1 cent sales tax, was losing by 55.7 to 44.5 percent.

School Board (Two positions)
Mark Kindhouse was leading opponents Meredith Meade (35.7 percent) and Bob Sturm (24.45 percent).
Moraga
Town Council (Three positions)
Incumbent Roger Wykle led all opponents (30.6 percent) with Kymberleigh Korpus running second (24.6 percent). She was followed by Craig Crossley (21.8 percent) and Jeanette Fritzky (22.1 percent).
School Board (Two positions)
Richard Severy led opponents (38.6 percent), followed by Joseph Rosenbaum (34.6 percent) and David Harrison (27 percent).
Measure V
The Schools bond had a large lead (69.5 percent) over opposition (29.5 percent).
Orinda
City Council (Two positions)
Newcomer Inga Miller (33.9 percent) and incumbent Darlene Gee (30.3 percent) led the pack of candidates, followed by Bruce London (20.7 percent) and Linda Delahunt (14.9 percent).
Orinda School Board (Two positions)
Hillary Weiner led the voting with 33.4 percent, followed by Cara Hoxie with 32.5 percent and Sarah Butler with 29.6 percent.
MOFD ( One position)
With 25 precincts reporting, Craig Jorgens held a slight lead (52.7 percent) over Orinda mayor Victoria Smith (47.1 percent).
