Hillside and ridgeline town council study session Wednesday, Nov. 15
Image provided

After several years of meetings and study sessions the planning commission submitted its recommendation to the Moraga Town Council regarding new hillside and ridgeline regulations. The commission recommended most of the text with some exceptions, such as a new rule limiting development in high-risk areas to one dwelling unit per 20 acres, even when hazards such as landslides have been mitigated or new ways to calculate visual impacts of new buildings on hillsides. The council will hold a study session about the new body of texts at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the council chambers, 335 Rheem Blvd. The final amendments to existing regulations are still slated for adoption before the end of the year. - S. Braccini
