Get ready- it’s camp time!

It may only be March, but spring break and summer are just around the corner, and with that comes the wonderful opportunity for our children to experience some fantastic camps. In this issue of the Lamorinda Weekly, we kick off our annual guide to activities and programs in and around Lamorinda, featuring full-day camps for the summer as well as spring break camps. Look for our listing of half-day camps and programs coming in April.

The ArtRoom (Lafayette)

The ArtRoom is excited to be offering weekly camps this summer.  Choose from Fine Art Camps for ages 5-12, Clay Camps for ages 7-17, and Teen Intensives in Painting, Drawing, Embroidery, Sculpture, and more. Join us for half or full day, with a Lunch Bunch option available!

Camp Awesome Summer Camp  (Lafayette)

Camp Awesome is back this summer for another Awesome camp experience. Awesome games, activities, and phenomenal summer shows. Open all 11 weeks of summer: Early care 8 a.m., Day Camp 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Afternoon camp 2 - 5:30 p.m. Registration opens March 23 at noon.

Camp Galileo (Lafayette)

Summer day camp in Lafayette at Lafayette Elementary School. Camp Galileo’s curriculum combines STEAM exploration and outdoor fun for kids in grades K–10. 

Camp day:  9 a.m. – 3 p.m. 
Extended care available. AM care: 8 – 9 a.m. | PM care: 3 – 6 p.m.

Firecracker Summer Math Camp (Lafayette)

Firecracker Summer Math Camp for curious and challenge-loving kids ages 6 to 16. Instructions employ math games, projects, and magic tricks, sparking kids’ interest in math and boosting their skills and confidence. Morning classes are followed by fun activities in the afternoon.

Lafayette Summer Music Workshop (Lafayette)

In its twenty-eighth year, the Lafayette Summer Music Workshop provides an intimate and inspiring  environment for learning and playing jazz. Master classes, improvisation workshops, combos, theory, and free choice classes are led by preeminent jazz musicians. Average student to teacher ratio is 6 to 1. Student age is 11 through adult.

Moraga Day Camp (Moraga)  

This summer, we’re setting course for “Journey into the Unknown” — where curiosity leads the way and every day reveals a new world waiting to be explored. Will you answer the call to adventure? Weekly sessions available for Ages 3.5 – 1. Held at the Hacienda de las Flores Park, Fridays at the Moraga Commons Park, and field trips too.

Orinda Parks and Rec (Orinda)

Orinda summer camps are a fantastic opportunity to make new friends, learn new subjects, and have fun in a safe, engaging environment. This year’s summer camp theme is Curiosity Quest, with a variety of camp offerings, such as theater, STEM, sports, art, coding, traditional city-run day camps, and more.

Randy Bennett Basketball Camps (Moraga, Saint Mary’s College Basketball) 

The Randy Bennett Day Camps held at Saint Mary’s College are a great way for boys and girls grades K-9th to receive top-class instruction on every aspect of the game. Coached by Coach Bennett’s elite camp staff, learn the value of W.A.L.T. (Work ethic, attitude, leadership, and teamwork). RB camp has been a staple in the community for 20+ summers. Morning, afternoon and full day options available.

Roughing it Day Camp (Lafayette)

Campers enjoy every day playing, learning, and having fun with their camper group and counselor in the great outdoors at the Lafayette Reservoir.  Campers learn, grow, and make new friends. There are also set times for snack, water breaks, sunscreen, and lunch in the shade.  K-10th grade options available.  

Camp Day: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with extended care options.

Summer@Saklan Art & Science Camps (Moraga)   

Summer@Saklan is the perfect place for your child to discover new passions and cultivate creativity this summer. Weekly summer camps offer hands-on art and science experiences, and engaging activities such as cooking, games, and water play for children ages 3 - 8 in a fun and supportive environment.

SMC Soccer (Moraga)

Don’t miss Saint Mary’s College Women’s Soccer Camps this summer! The camps are coached by the SMC Women’s Soccer staff and players. Each week of summer camp features fun camp themes, games, a campers versus coaches challenge, and a World Cup! . – Junior Elite Camps focus on technical development, position specific training, small sided, and full field games.
