Friends of Orinda Library purchase phone charging cabinet

The Orinda Library will soon feature a locking phone charging cabinet, donated by the Friends of the Orinda Library. The cabinet contains eight bays into which users can place their phone for charging. Each bay will securely lock with a personal pin code. The cabinet will provide rapid charging for both Android and Apple phones. Because it can be hooked up to a generator, it can also be used during Public Safety Power Shutdowns (PSPSs). The Friends announced at the Orinda Mayor's Liaison Meeting on Oct. 12 that the cabinet will be made available to Orinda during any upcoming PSPSs.
