| Published September 11th, 2024 | Elizabeth Takao | | | | 1949-2023 | Last September 9, 2023, Elizabeth Jane Takao passed away peacefully after a 4-year journey with cancer.
After meeting in their hometown Cincinnati, Ohio, Lloyd and Elizabeth eventually settled in Moraga, California to raise their three children. Elizabeth cherished her family.
In the 1990's, Elizabeth became a floral designer and started her own business, Special Occasions. Elizabeth loved arranging flowers, whether she was making bouquets for a relative's wedding, hanging a client's holiday decor, or updating the vase in her home's entryway.
Elizabeth loved learning about different cultures. Her curiosity about the world took her to Africa, Europe, Japan, Bali, China, Sri Lanka and Turkey. In 2004, Elizabeth became a docent at the Asian Art Museum. She loved the wonders contained within the museum's walls.
Elizabeth and Lloyd were married for over 50 years. For relaxation, they frequently traveled to Hawaii and Pacific Grove. Their evenings might be spent together cheering on the Warriors or rewatching Downton Abbey episodes.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her delicious cooking, pecan pie and jams. The sight of lilikoi, orange persimmons, and monarch butterflies and hummingbirds will prompt memories of Elizabeth's beauty, smile, and laugh.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Lloyd, sister Sandra (Gary), her children and their families: Elisa (Darin, Austin and Olivia), Jeff (Ashley and Emma), and Laura. She was preceded in death by her father Shelby, mother Glenieve and stepfather Ed, and sister Jeannie.
