Lafayette's 2nd Annual Community Day right around the corner
By Jennifer Wake
Following last year's successful Lafayette Community Day - where hundreds of community members volunteered their time on projects and activities involving human services, youth development and education, town beautification and more - the Community Foundation, the city, and the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce will once again partner for the second annual Community Day to be held Saturday, June 3. The day will start at 8:30 a.m. with a light breakfast and kickoff rally at Plaza Park and after volunteering, everyone returns at 11:30 a.m. to the park for lunch, a word from the mayor about the 175th Celebration, a small nonprofit fair, music, and recognition. For information about volunteer positions and to sign up, go to: www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4fa5ac2eabfccf8-signup1#/
Participants must sign a waiver before signing up. Volunteers for work projects need to be at least 12 years of age and individuals under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by an adult. www.lafayettecommunityday.org
