The 2026 Orinda Citizen(s) of the Year, Sue Farmer and Clay Deanhardt, will be honored at an awards dinner sponsored by the Orinda Community Foundation on Sunday evening, Nov. 8 beginning at 6 p.m. Farmer served multiple terms as president of the Lamorinda Arts Council (four times), past president of the Orinda Rotary Club, and past president of the Music Teachers Association of California. Deanhardt completed two terms as Rotary Club president, was twice honored as Rotarian of the Year, and served as Orinda Parks and Recreation Commissioner for six years. Pictured is Deanhardt, who was the outgoing president of the Orinda Rotary Club, presenting Farmer with the a “taxidermied” hybrid skunk (with horns no less) that the Club hands down from president to president as one of its traditions.
