Moraga Commons Park was a blur of activity on the Fourth of July as residents – and their quaffed-out pets – gathered to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.

Sponsored by the Town of Moraga, the Moraga Park Foundation, the Moraga Lions and Moraga Kiwanis, the event kicked off the day at 11 a.m. with over 120 of the fur-covered set decked out for the popular Dog Parade, with owners winding the pooches around the park. Jumpy houses and lawn games thrilled the little ones, while live music could be heard from the bandshell and booths offered a plethora of information as well as a wide variety food, beer and wine for the older set.

After sunset, the Fireworks show at the Moraga Country Club was the perfect ending for the country’s milestone birthday celebration.
