The Park Theater renovation is in full swing and work continues on the foundation, including formwork for foundations installed, rebar, and concrete pour as well as demolition of the east wall siding, which was scheduled to occur prior to the Fourth of July celebration. Timelapse cameras are strategically situated on site, so photos and videos of the progress can be found on the Park Theater Trust website (https://parktheatertrust.org/construction-updates/construction-update-june-26-pictures/). Cameras will shift in position as areas of work is completed, so folks can watch the construction as it unfolds.

According to the Park Theater Trust board of directors, visitors to the construction site or in the de-constructed theater itself are not allowed. Safe access to the site is extremely limited due to debris and heavy moving equipment. The public's safety and the safety of the workers are a top priority and the board asks everyone to be respectful of the construction crew who is working so diligently to stay on schedule.

Since access to materials and equipment is extremely limited, beginning last week several parking spots in the small private parking lot on the east side of the Park have been reserved for construction activities. Thanks to the City of Lafayette, special arrangements have been made for patrons and employees of Pillar Cowork & Childcare, Orangetheory Fitness, and Third Reflection Salon at the nearby Oak Bridge parking lot.

Finally, the “Name a Seat, Build a Theater” fundraising campaign is ongoing: https://parktheatertrust.org/name-my-seat. Once all 204 seats are named, the program is over.
